BMW Alpine CM5908 Radio Recap — Electrolytic Capacitor BOM (22 caps)
Posted for posterity, referenced from R3v.
If you’re rebuilding the amplifier section of the BMW Alpine CM5908 radio, a full electrolytic recap is one of the best “baseline repairs” you can do. Electrolytics age, drift, and dry out over time, which can lead to distortion, noise, weak output, or intermittent operation. This post is a ready-to-order Bill of Materials (BOM) for the 22 electrolytic capacitors typically replaced to refresh the amp.
Below is the exact parts list (including physical sizes and lead spacing), formatted so you can copy/paste it into your notes or a parts order.
Electrolytic Capacitor BOM (22 total)
| Capacitance (µF) | Voltage (V) | Diameter (mm) | Height (mm) | Pitch (mm) | AEC-Q200 | Qty | Brand | Manufacturer Part Number |

Notes before you solder
-
Polarity matters. Electrolytics are polarized—double-check the board markings and the original part orientation before removing anything.
-
Match capacitance, don’t go lower on voltage. Same µF is the goal; voltage can be the same or higher, never lower.
-
Physical size is part of the “fit.” This BOM includes diameter/height/pitch so replacements drop in cleanly without bending leads or stressing pads.
-
The list is mostly AEC-Q200 qualified parts; one part (the 2200µF 16V) is marked N, which is totally fine if it matches spec and fits.
