To remove E30 Seat hinges, start by removing the tilt plastics:

Then remove the two philips that hold the back cover on, then simply lift the back cover up until the top clips at the top of the cover pop out. Emphasis on pulling up towards the headrest, not out.

After removing the plastic seat hinge cover, remove the cables and clip:

Remove screws holding seat back to seat base and also lift up and off.

Remove the pin to access the circlip:

Remove circlip:

Remove 17mm bolt and slide hinge off:

Upgrade the failure prone seat back mounting tabs with our CNC machined tabs:
