The chassis diagrams here appear to show that the two front longitudinal frame members are weakly joined with the body side members by the bottom panel of the body. The longitudinal front end members appear to be joined without a frame connection to the rocker panel side rail members. I have a convertible so the lack of a roof figures in to the feel of the car. But my sense is that the flex in the chassis is mostly in the front end rather than in the sides and rear end, where larger side rails are present in the convertible. Do all model share similar front end flexibility? Do the available subframe braces help to stiffen or dame this out?
