Here are some nuances to understand when picking E30 M20 accessory belts.

Alternator and Waterpump belt

The factory belt size is 9.5X965 – PN 11511711091

However! The factory belt size is only sized appropriately for the smaller style alternator pulley. If you have the larger pulley style, you won’t easily be able to get the belt on and off the alternator with the top adjuster removed.

The best case scenario to “roll on the belt” by turning the crank with a 22mm socket and wrench. Ensure you only rotate the engine in the direction it operates in!

Alternatively, its much better to run a 10×970 belt that is able to fit both the small and large pulley styles without extra messing around, just undo the top adjuster and the belt will slip on and off.

Power steering belt

Run the factory size 9,5X825 – PN 32421706597

AC Compressor belt

The ETK calls for two different length belts one 810mm and the other 823mm. Get the 823mm, it supersedes the 810mm and the extra length is very much needed if you stand a chance of mounting the belt.
