I often hear people referring to the alignment, removal and installation of the hood as a two person job. Its easy to understand why people have this misconception. One would assume you open the hood while one person holds it and the other unscrews the mounting bolts.
However, all three should be done with the hood DOWN, open, but down. When you have it in this position you will be able to access all 6 mounting bolts in the front from the front. You will find you have access to these bolts:
For removal undo the hood shock assembly first, disconnect the windshield washer hose, then put the hood down and remove the 6 bolts. By yourself you can then reach across the hood and lift it off.
Re-installation should also be performed with the hood down flat, place it down gently, and once placed down from the front flip up the mounting brackets and ensure the rollers in the back are where they should be: Then screw in the bolts
Alignment is very easy with the hood down but popped open, you unscrew all 6 bolts slightly and nudge the hood where you need to, re-tighten, check by closing the hood, and repeat until perfect.
