BMW VIN decoder – see what options your BMW came with from the factory

September 2, 2012
By

On a 25 year old E30 it is hard to know what options were original to the car and what options were added later by previous owners.

Take for example my E30, it has the original white exterior with a cardinal red interior. However after decoding my VIN I discovered the cardinal interior was not original to my car because it was ordered with a black leather interior.

Other cool information includes the actual day of production.

I entered the last 7 digits of my VIN # and received a notice that I needed to log in. But, I had already logged in. Additionaly, there appears to be Russian characters in one of the areas for this article.
    Weird.

Since this post was made the website that is being linked has changed the requirements. It looks like users now have to login to check their vin.
